Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Clinical Manager is responsible for clinical programs and for assisting the Director in managing the programs and staff of the Pharmacy Department. Function as a working leader in providing direct supervision for the Pharmacy. The manager collaborates with nursing, medical staff, and other health-care professionals to ensure safe and efficient medication use systems.                              *CA                                          AH123

Qualifications

Education Background

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Pharm D degree or the combination of a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy plus extensive experience demonstrating a high level of clinical competency, which, in the Director’s opinion, is the equivalent of an advanced degree.
  • Clinically oriented ASHP accredited residency (or training in areas of clinical pharmacy), preferred.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Current license (or license-eligible) as a registered pharmacist in the State of Washington.

Special Training/Skills

  • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served by the department.
  • Demonstrates continuous professional growth and awareness of emerging industry trends by maintaining membership in professional organizations.

Work Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 4-6 years clinical pharmacy experience, including at least 1 year supervisory, lead, or managerial experience.
  • Requires familiarity with unit dose, I.V. admixture, and clinical pharmacy.

Physical Abilities

  • Must have the manual dexterity sufficient for typing and medication preparation for dispensing, including preparation of IV additives.

Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
