    Responsibilities

    Provides support as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide care to patients undergoing surgical procedures primarily in the main operating rooms.

    Qualifications

    Education Background 

    • Requires completion of operating room technical course and certification (or equivalent experience and job training).

    License, Certification, Registry, etc.

    • Certified as an Operating Room (Scrub) Technician

    Work Experience 

    • Current patient care experience preferred.

    Special Training/Skills 

    • Previous patient care experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with staff, physicians, patients and families.
    • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.

    Physical Abilities

    Physical Demand Level:  Heavy

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

     

    Lift / Carry 

    50 to 100 pounds occasionally

    25 to 50 pounds frequently

    10 to 20 pounds constantly

     

    As required, must be able to-

    Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders

    Push and Pull

    Perform fine motor functions

    Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
