    The Census and Staffing Office Specialist serves as the primary resource for coordinating with the Nursing Shift Manager the daily patient flow (ADT) along with staffing and providing administrative support to the Department Manager, Shift Manager, Staffing Coordinator and Nursing Administration. Person is required to function effectively, independently and confidentially.


    Education Background

    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Two years college work preferred.
    • Medical Terminology preferred.

    Licensure, Registration, Certification:

    • None required.

    Special Training/Skills

    • At least one year experience in computer/keyboard use typing 50 wpm, familiar with admissions process, Windows Office and experience with scheduling software applications.
    • Able to organize and prioritize high volumes of date/information, telephone calls , competing priorities, while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written) with all stakeholders for the effective treatment of patients.

    Work Experience

    • Two to five years progressively responsible experience as a Staffing Assistant or Admitting Representative.
    • Experience in healthcare industry preferred.
    • Very good understanding of medical terminology.
    • Experience with Epic ADT, Kronos scheduling/payroll preferred.

    Physical Demand Level:  Medium

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

    • Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.

    As required, must be able to-

    Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders
    Push and Pull
    Perform fine motor functions
    Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
