    The Executive Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative and program support for member(s) of Senior Management. The Executive Assistant may be assigned to support Senior Director(s). Work is of a highly complex, confidential, and responsible nature. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary administrative contact for internal and external customers, handles complex and confidential issues, and oversees and/or participates in the coordination and completion of special projects or events.





    Education Background

    • AA required. 
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

    Special Training/Skills

    • Typing: 60 wpm with accuracy required, verified via pre-employment testing.
    • Microsoft Word skills: Required, verified via pre-employment testing.
    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint: Required, verified via pre-employment testing.
    • Microsoft Publisher (or similar desktop publishing software) skills.
    • Other computer skills: Data entry, database, desktop publishing.
    • Excellent oral/written communication skills.  Ability to compose, edit, and produce written materials accurately and effectively.  Required editing skills include spelling, punctuation, grammar, format and structure.
    • Excellent customer service skills, public relations and diplomacy skills, teamwork and teambuilding skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, executive-level environment employing effective organizational skills, time management skills, and appropriate prioritization abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with staff, physicians, trustees, patients and visitors using a professional, courteous manner.
    • Interfaces with high-level internal and external contacts requiring considerable discretion and initiative. 
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently on highly complex tasks and appropriately exercise judgment.

    Work Experience

    • Requires a minimum of five years administrative assistant experience to executive level management. 
    • Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare administration setting strongly preferred (prior experience in business or legal setting may be substituted, if, in the executive’s opinion, it is equivalent to hospital administrative experience).
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
    • Exemplary planning and time management skills.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.

    Physical Abilities

    • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to use a computer monitor and keyboard, calculator, and telephone. If duties require transcribing, must be able to use transcription equipment.

    Physical Demand Level:  Sedentary

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-


    Lift / Carry 10 pounds occasionally


    As required, must be able to-

    Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders
