    Responsibilities

    Barista in a licensed Starbucks store providing prompt, efficient and legendary customer service to all guests.  Prepares espresso beverages, serves food and other beverages; cashiers and maintains store and equipment.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

    Licensure, Registration, Certification

    • Current Washington State Food Handler’s Permit is required.
    • If required to drive, must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and an excellent driving record.

    Special Training/Skills

    • Able to learn and operate store equipment, computer/POS register, and bar equipment.
    • Able to deliver legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer; discovers and responds to customer need.
    • Able to maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team, able to anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
    • Able to provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards; able to quickly learn and implement promotional programs.

    Work Experience

    • Previous experience preparing a wide variety of espresso drinks in a large-scale retail or healthcare food operation is preferred.

    Physical Abilities

    • For the efficient delivery of services to customers, this job requires sufficient English-language skills to understand and be understood when interacting with customers, visitors, patients, coworkers, and management.

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

     

    Lift/Carry

    20 to 50 pounds occasionally

    10 to 25 pounds frequently

    Up to 10 pounds constantly
