Seeking registered nurse with approximately five years of clinical patient care experience who has an interest in collecting and utilizing data to improve patient outcomes. Serves as an opportunity to apply nursing knowledge in a different healthcare setting while still positively impacting patient care. Desired attributes include self-motivated, detail-oriented, and effective communicator. No previous experience in Quality Improvement required.
The Registered Nurse Abstractor will serve as an integral part of the Quality Improvement team through effective data collection and reporting. The RN Abstractor is responsible for retrospective and concurrent medical record abstraction across a variety of settings in accordance with institution and regulatory deadlines. Data provided to medical and clinical leaders will assist with the ongoing assessment of the quality of care within the organization.
Furthermore, the RN Abstractor will use their knowledge and experience as a clinician, as well as insights from research and analysis, to drill down to the root cause of problems, identify opportunities, and use this information to facilitate increases in efficiency and effectiveness of hospital process and outcomes.
