    Supports multiple nursing units in essential support activities such as preparing staff schedules for leadership review; assisting in  time and attendance processing; coordinating communication regarding vacation requests and leave of absences; and tracking computer access, performance evaluations and orientation/training records for direct care staff on the nursing units.  Facilitates the coordination of these activities and many confidential activities in close coordination with the Assistant Nurse Manager for each unit as well as the Human Resources, Informatics and Clinical Education departments.  In addition, the Administrative Coordinator provides services for NWHMC employees including explanation of policies and procedures related to their pay or schedules and investigation into possible pay discrepancies, including resolution where appropriate.


    Education Background

    • Associate degree required.  Bachelor degree preferred. 

     Licensure, Registration, Certification

    • Not applicable

     Special Training/Skills

    • Expertise in Microsoft Office products and learns other programs (scheduling and payroll) quickly
    • High degree of accuracy and familiarity with data entry and computer keyboarding
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a high paced environment
    • Effective phone and in person communication skills essential

     Work Experience

    • Previous staffing and scheduling experience preferred.
    • 2-3 years of office or hospital clerical experience required

     Physical Abilities

    • Must be able to safely maneuver supplies.
    • Must be able to handle a fluctuating workload.
    • Must be able to sit and keyboard for long periods of time.
    • This job requires ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written) with all stakeholders (providers, caregivers, patients, family members).


    Physical Demand Level:  Sedentary

    In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

    • Lift / Carry 10 pounds occasionally


    As required, must be able to-

    • Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders
    • Push and Pull

    • Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
